Led by owner and visionary Mandy Adams, Behind the Lids Healing Collective (affectionately known as BTL) is Orange County’s premier destination for breathwork, meditation, and holistic healing. What began as a small collective has blossomed into a thriving, heart-centered community where people come to reconnect, release, and remember who they truly are. At BTL, we specialize in transformative breathwork journeys, sound baths, guided meditations, and facilitator certification programs that support deep healing and personal growth. Our mission is to provide a sacred space where individuals can feel safe, seen, and empowered to live more grounded, connected, and awakened lives.
Our Story
Behind the Lids was founded in 2017 by Corey Miller, with the support of Frankie Salazar, as a nomadic meditation and breathwork community dedicated to healing—especially for those in recovery. In 2018, BTL opened its first physical location at 1901 Newport Blvd, later relocating to its now-beloved home at 1733 Monrovia Avenue in Costa Mesa.
In 2021, Corey passed the torch to Mandy Adams, who became the sole owner and steward of BTL’s next chapter. Under her guidance, the space was reimagined and the vision expanded—evolving into a full-spectrum healing studio rooted in community, authenticity, and transformation. Mandy not only continued the core offerings of meditation, breathwork, and sound healing, but also launched robust facilitator certification programs, making BTL a premier training destination for aspiring healers and teachers.
When Corey passed away from cancer in 2024, his legacy remained deeply woven into the fabric of the studio. One of his most profound messages—“Trust the Process”—is now painted on the studio wall, a simple yet powerful reminder that has touched countless lives. Spoken to Mandy during one of her most difficult seasons, those words became a mantra of surrender, healing, and faith.
Corey was a truly beautiful soul who impacted everyone he met, and his spirit continues to guide the work we do. Today, Behind the Lids stands as a living tribute to his vision and love—a sanctuary where people from all walks of life come to breathe, heal, and just be.
